RBT stop uncovers pills, pistol, meth

A MAN was found with $45,000 worth of ecstasy pills, a replica pistol and suspected methamphetamine during a random breath test on the NSW south coast, police say.

The 22-year-old was stopped on Five Islands Road at Cringila about midday on Sunday, and officers discovered he had been disqualified from driving until 2015.

A search of his car allegedly turned up a large number of tablets believed to be ecstasy, a replica Glock pistol and a white crystal substance, suspected to be methamphetamine.

The man was arrested and taken to Port Kembla Police Station where he was charged with driving, drug and weapon offences.

He will appear in Wollongong Local Court on January 5.
